Associate Analyst 3

I spoke on the phone with someone in HR about my internships and coursework. She set me up for a superday in the NYC office, which was 2 groups of 2 on 1 interviews over 3 hours. The interviewers all asked behavioral/background questions (i.e. tell me about a time you had to rush to meet a tight deadline). Everyone was more or less friendly, and I think I answered their questions well.

Was surprised when I didn't receive an offer. I got the impression that I was competing against non-entry level candidates for what should have been an entry level role, but the HR person I spoke to said they had a policy about not giving interview feedback, so I can only guess. Still, was expecting to get the offer - I was friendly and engaging, answered all their questions well, and I have an Ivy League education in economics and statistics. (salary range was indicated in the mid 50k range, while offers my colleagues received at other financial institutions were consistently in the 60-70k range).
