Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I had 3 rounds; one at an academic conference, and two phone rounds after that.
The first round was largely a personality screen. Both of the SIG employees I spoke with were quite friendly. I felt comfortable talking about my research and interests.
The second round was straight-up puzzles. As a math competition alum (at the time), I was super jazzed. I didn't ace them all, but did well enough to get a call-back.
The third round was highly mathematical. The interviewer was frustrated at one point because I couldn't recite the first moments of the chi-squared distribution.
