Moving From working a Software Engineer to Working in operations at an Asset Management Fund

I am a 26 year old computer scientist. i currently work as a software engineer/ consultant at s software firm at the city,London. My team produces software for fixed income assets divisions of investment banks.

I just received an offer to join an assent management company as a member of the operations department. I will be trained for the CFA.

I do not know if I should take this position or not because it involves me moving from one industry to another.

Can any wise head advise me please?
