Bain First Round Alternate
Emailed that I'm an alternate for Bain first round (target school) What should I do? What are my odds of getting off list?

I'd say odds are low, but not zero (one of my friends was on the alternate list last year and it never amounted to anything) - probably nothing you can do but wait.

Actually its reasonably good. Last year I was in the same situation and was shocked how many slots were open (something like 15+). Ended up making the final round after i got off the alternate list.
I got the last spot at my school (target) as an alternate. Ended up in the final round too, so if you get a spot, you have just as good a chance as anyone to get an offer.
i'm confused about what the process of slots opening is? doesn't that mean someone from your school got an interview and declined? can't see that happening
The firm might also add spots if they can get more interviewers. Also some people may have already accepted offers, or will be unable to do the interview because they have a test that day or something like that.
