Bain vs. D.E. Shaw

Hi all,

I'm currently a second-year Associate Consultant at Bain, likely to be promoted to Consultant this coming August. A week ago, I interviewed with and received an offer to join D.E. Shaw in New York in a Strategy-type role (i.e. not a trader).

I'm trying to figure out what would make sense as a next step and would really appreciate any advice from people on this board. Any insight into how I should be thinking about evaluating the two positions would be very helpful...

Thanks a ton, MC

Delirium2If you are a second year Associate Consultant (AC) at Bain, the next step is Senior Associate Consultant (SAC), then Bain. No one EVER gets a direct promote from AC to Consultant. Duh!

You are very smart but did not answer the dude...
