Based off my resume and profile, how realistic are my chances for FT MBB recruiting?

Hi everyone, I'm hoping to get some feedback on my resume and/or realistic opinions on my chances for landing an MBB offer. For context, I am a rising junior at a non target university in California. I would say this is the weakest part of my profile, and I intend on networking my ass off to offset this shortcoming. I'm hoping to land a Tier 2 consulting offer for next summer and leverage that experience as I recruit full-time for MBB. Please let me know your thoughts and be brutally honest, thank you in advance!

Honestly quite good, for FT I can imagine you picking up a few interviews

not really. Ig increase GPA if you really want something, after all 3.9 is higher than 3.8 by 0.1. But that not real advice, per se

Not to be invasive, but if you're in cali and you've been fairly successful with ecomm (40k in rev is really amazing), would you have more of an interest in VC/entrepreneurship? I mean there have to be a handful of alums in VC from your school. Not trying to push you away from consulting -- i go to a good school on the east coast, but not much of a VC community here. All the VC people from my school live on the west coast. And you seem to have the financial knowledge to actually enter. just a thought. I don't know anything about you but your resume

I do agree that there's enough meat here to have a pretty good resume, especially if you can land a T2 summer internship.

Now, some points to note to boost your chances even more:

  • Rephrase those bullet points to be "outcome-focused" as much as possible. So, try to tell me what the overall impact was of the thing you did or the project you participated in. You can then detail how you individually supported the effort, but do emphasise impact/outcome
  • Try to move away from pure task descriptors like "created pivot tables for xxxK data points", that's too detailed and does not convey the impact of your work. Instead think of something along the lines of "Supported improvement of card issuing platform of yy% by improving authorization performance & benchmarking versus Fintech competitors"

Otherwise, like I said, I think there's enough meat on this resume to have something quite impactful, if you can just really focus the entire page on Excellence, Teamwork, Entrepreneurship/Proactiveness and communicating those 3 points as directly and impactfully as possible in each bullet point

Best of luck!
