Big 4 Information Technology exit opps

Hi,

I am a management information systems major and am going to be interning in IT & Risk Assurance/IT Advisory/IT Project Assurance (dif. firms call it different things) at a Big 4 firm. I am not an accounting major or on a CPA track (and don't really have an interest in accounting). I am much more interested in the consulting side of IT vs. audit, although I understand a decent portion of my job is performing technology related audits.

I am wondering what the exit opps for big 4 are in the IT side of things. I'm under the impression that Audit and Tax consultants (accounting majors w/ CPAs) usually go into the industry (sometimes as managers?) and usually in tax/audit departments. Does anyone know what there is for IT guys like me? I'm very interested in IT consulting and choose to go with a Big 4 firm for the "data management/SAP/it projects/big data/IT practices auditing" roles. What comes after Big 4?

I want to know if this is a good starting career (since I will be interning) and, again, and very interested in hearing about exit opps for IT-focused folks at an accounting firm.
