Ideally with a focus on front end items like target screening and evaluation, and market research etc. Could you share the names of a few firms that fit this profile? Stax would be a great example. Kaiser Associates has a dedicated PE arms which does only that. Other firms include Candesic (healthcare focus), CIL Management Consultants, Graph Strategy (founded by ex-Kaiser people) and Armstrong Transaction Services (UK-focused). I'm sure there are plenty of other smaller regional boutiques I'm missing, but these should be a good starting point.
