Can firms tell if you use fake accounts to do the tests?
I wanted to have a look at the McKinsey game and BCG and Bain tests so I applied on a fake account with a fake email address and a random CV template so I could do the tests. I didn't use a VPN for the actual applications but I used it for the BCG and Bain tests (McKinsey didn't load with a VPN). And now on my real account I'm being rejected from everywhere even though I've definitely passed the tests. I had thought my CV was decent (Oxbridge First Class, GS/JP/MS IB summer) so not sure if I'm being blacklisted. Can firms tell if you've done the tests on fake accounts?
I am in processes with firms I did that for so doubt it
Nope.
Heavily unlikely that you're blacklisted based on that. It's intensive to collect all the IP and machine data to identify you (not to mention impossible via a VPN).
Probably just got rejected for other reasons, noting it's a tough process at the moment.
Can confirm you must’ve gotten dinged for another reason
I applied for an internship at McKinsey (rejected) and then applied for a full time using a different email address. They matched the two accounts.
Think they may identify using a phone number or something else perhaps.
Yeah I think they can match accounts with same phone numbers and addresses
