Can I get a job at one of the big consulting firms?
I posted this in the "Get a Job" thread too, but I thought it might get some responses here as well.
I just graduated in May from a liberal arts with a degree in economics and political science (Double Major). I am currently teaching overseas as part of an exchange program for one year. I am looking to get into consulting when I get back. I'm wondering realistically what my chances are of being able to do it. I graduated Cum Laude and with Honors from a school that McKinnsey/BCG/Bain/Deloitte/PwC consulting all do On-Campus interviewing for and have plenty of friends who got jobs in both the consulting and accounting departments for both of these companies. My school allows us to participate in on-campus interviews for one year after graduation. I obviously would not be able to do this, but I'm wondering if you guys think it's possible to arrange Skype interviews after getting noticed via OCI? Is it realistic to think I can get to 2nd rounds at all, in which case I would be more than willing to travel.
Someone mentioned something about BCG/Bain willing to do remote interviews, does anyone have any experience with this?
Reposting won't get you more attention. Just bump your old thread if you have to. You got some great answers in the first one.
