Capital One Strategy Analyst- interview

Hey guys,

I was wondering whether anyone has any experience/ tips/ advice they could share with me regarding Capital One and its strategy analyst interview. I was selected for a first-round interview for their Strategy Group associate/ analyst position so I am trying to prepare as thoroughly as possible.

There are a lot of discussions on this site about the BA position, but I'm not sure whether the interview processes will be similar. Many people have said that the Capital One BA interviews are more quantitative than qualitative ("there is only one right answer.") Does this apply to strategy analyst interviews as well?

I would really appreciate any advice! I really like this company and I want to do everything I can to land a second interview. Thank you in advance!

sarai - could you please share your stats/background; I'm looking at capital one as an option and i'd like to know they are really looking for. thanks

I interviewed there and honestly it was one of the tougher interview I had (but it was also one of my first so that might have been it). You are correct in that it is more quantitative than other interviews and they expect you to be able to solve a wide variety of relatively simple equations. Most of their interviewers aren't that sociable and are more numbers people so don't care as much if you'd be a good drinking companion and the like.
