Career options in India based Global Capability Centers for finance roles
With the rise of Global Capability Centers (GCCs) in India, especially in cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune, there’s been a noticeable shift in the kind of finance roles available outside traditional investment hubs.
Many multinational banks, PE firms, and financial institutions are setting up GCCs to handle a range of high-value functions—from FP&A and regulatory reporting to risk analytics, M&A support, and even front-office quant roles in some cases.
I’m curious to hear from others:
Are these roles seen as long-term career options or stepping stones?
How is the career progression, compensation, and upskilling within these finance-focused GCCs?
Any noticeable trends in how these centers are evolving post-2020?
Would love to learn from anyone who has worked in or with finance teams at a GCC
