Career stability in the top consulting firms
How often do the top firms (MBB, Booz, anyone else in tier 2) have layoffs? Is it typically only during bleak economic climates (see: 2001, 2008, 2009, etc.), or are these firms dynamically "right sizing" on a much more common basis?
I was under the impression a lot of people are counseled out irrespective of the financial climate and that there is a huge up or out culture.
