Chief Investment Officer. Might want to try a quick google search next time. These types of firms generally advise endowments and other types of organizations that have large investment portfolios
Edit: could also be Chief Information officer I guess? maybe someone more familiar with consulting could chime in on this

Chief Information Officer. CIO Advisory basically deals with IT Strategy, IT Ops, etc.

First time poster and this is the welcome I get? Wow. And yes I tried google search many times. I understand CIO Advisory works with IT Strategy hence the strategy hashtag. I just didnt know what CIO stood for. Clearly one of you doesnt know either seeing as you gave different answers - Chief Investment Officer and Chief Information officer.
okay, after providing additional context, you claim i'm wrong. thanks buddy. there are also businesses built around the concept of being external CIOs, which could be termed as CIO advisory as well. I was trying to help you out, which is why I added the edit that it could be another definition (of which I am not familiar). you're welcome hotshot

Also to be fair, I found that link when I was googling "CIO Advisory". Where in that pwc link does it say what CIO stands for? That was my ultimate question. I know what it is and can find plenty of info on it but I had trouble tracking down what the acronym stood for.
