Consulting recruitment: Operations

I'm inquiring if someone could provide some information on Operations Consulting recruiting during business schools. Basically, what do firms look for work experience wise? Does gmat score matter? Possible to break in without going 180K in debt from B school?

Depends on your experience and network. Try applying for experienced hire roles and talk to some consultants. If you don't get anywhere, an MBA is your best bet.

Anecdotal evidence: I know a guy who got hired as an experienced hire from a operations role in the military into a MBB firm's operations practice.
