CUM GPA low, major GPA good. Best way to explain this to recruiters?

HI all, I am having a difficult time applying to jobs through handshake because it seems recruiters care more about my cumulative GPA then my actual major GPA. There are reasons for this but in brief it just took me a while to get my shit together, and I need to figure out how i can break these barriers with recruiters as right now I cant even apply to some jobs just because my Cum GPA is not high enough. any thoughts?
