Decision Modeling & Economics at EY?

Came across a job posting for this group. I initially thought it was their business valuations group, but according to HR, it's quite different - it sounded like CFO advisory role where the team uses financial modelling and data analytics to support their decision-making.

Combining finance + data analytics sounds pretty interesting, and a great opportunity to learn about data analytics and tools, but I'm a bit curious on whether this role is just about building tools for clients, or if there are actual "advisory" involved. For example, apparently they build models to see if M&A should be pursued - however, wouldn't bankers cover this role?

Would be great if anyone can shed some light into the role and what they actually do (i.e. what type of model do they build, projects they work on), and potential exit opps. Note that I'm not interested in IB or PE.

Thanks!
