Did not receive any emails from McK about my status

I am a graduate student (MS) going through the consulting full time recruitment. McKinsey sent out 1st round invites, along with rejection letters, last Friday for our school (target). I didn't receive any emails from McKinsey and followed up with the recruiter, but didn't hear from her either. What does this mean? Was I never even in the system to begin with? My friends have all received an email from McK, so this really worries me.

A bit about my qualifications: currently at a top business school (Master of Sci), 3.7/4.0 in undergrad (target), internship exp at a bulge bracket bank & a private equity firm; invited to 1st round interviews with BCG & Bain

I'm still hopeful - I want to say I'm waitlisted, but I honestly don't know what this implies.

Email the recruiter back and ask for clarity and then wait some more.

It is not worth thinking about it beyond there. Take some lessons learned and apply your energy to other companies.

Good luck!
