Kinda sounds like the domain of forensic accountants, but I could be wrong. Nothing wrong with that if you are intersted in that sort of work.
I am pretty sure you get to consult to a degree and certainly get modeling exposure. If you goto their site you can read some of the cases they have recently consulted on. Some seem to involve highlighting difference inDCF model valuation vs comparables. Seems much closer to a role that could trAnsition to MM IB instead of MM consulting.
