Do Consulting Partners/EM get paid differently at T2 depending Industry

Hey, I am a student at a target school. I want to do consulting, but I not sure if I would be a life consultant or not. I know exit opps are different depend on what the firm is know for but what about staying in consulting. Like why take PE projects that have longer hours if not leaving to PE. Also, any resources to know what comp progress like at these firms: MBB info is know but Im trying to be more realistic.

Break into consulting first then worry about if you like it. Just because you go to a target doesn't mean you will break in. Why are you even thinking about these random ass hypotheticals.

And pay is standardized until you start selling projects (junior partner/partner levels). Exit ops vary in pay a moderate amount.
