Do you guys use AI on online assessments?

Hey everyone, for context I recently took the OC&C online assessment for summer 2027. During the practice test I took it seriously and got a 100%. However during the actual test I was doing good until I ran really low on time and ended up guessing for the last couple of questions.

When I was doing it I was knew I could’ve easily gotten 100% in time if I just took pics on my phones ChatGPT app. Is this what others are doing.

I’d rather not cheat tbh, but if my competition is all acing these screens by AI maxing then I can’t really compete otherwise. I’d love to hear your guys’s experience if you’ve used AI on these online assessments or if someone you know has.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, discussions around cheating on online assessments, including the use of AI tools, have been a recurring topic. While some candidates have admitted to using external tools or methods to gain an edge, it's important to note that such practices can carry significant risks. Many firms, especially top-tier ones, have mechanisms in place to detect irregularities in test results, and being caught could lead to disqualification or even long-term reputational damage.

For example, in one WSO thread, a user questioned whether cheating on initial online assessments (like HackerRank or HireVue) would be reviewed later if the candidate progressed to further stages. While there’s no definitive answer, the consensus was that firms might review results if discrepancies arise or if cheating is suspected.

If you're concerned about competing fairly, focus on improving your test-taking strategies and time management. Many candidates feel the pressure to cheat because they believe others are doing so, but relying on your skills and preparation is always the safer and more ethical route. Remember, even if some candidates use AI or other tools, the risks often outweigh the potential short-term benefits.

i’m sure most people unless they’re your close friends wouldn’t admit to this, but cheating on hirevues is very commonplace where people read an AI script off their screen, similarly it’s possible to cheat on OAs by taking a picture of the screen, but i’m not sure how many people are actually doing this yet
