Does McKinsey only count the first referral link you apply through?

Hi all—would love insight from anyone who understands McKinsey’s referral system.
I applied to the summer BA role and was referred by an associate who sent me a referral link. I submitted my application through that link before the deadline.
But the next day literally after applying I received a referral confirmation email from a partner I had previously spoken to. His referral didn't come with an application link (probably because I had already applied).
My question is: Will the system still log his referral? Or does only the first referrer (the one whose link you apply with) count formally?
I’m a little stressed since a partner referral obviously carries more weight than an associate one. Any insight and advice to my situation would help—thank you!!
