Exit Opps for Small-Boutique Consulting Firm?

I was hoping for some insight into the feasibility of my exit opp plan.

I'm currently an analyst at a small boutique consulting firm who's approaching 1 yr of experience. While I'm enjoying my time here, I can't help but think the grass is greener on the other side. I feel like my talents are being a bit underutilized here and I also think my comp is low relative to my hours and for someone with my skill set. My firm also feels a bit small-potatoes compared to what's out there at bigger ones.

I know 1yr of exp is relatively little for an exit. The reason why I'm asking is to plan for a move sometime in the next 1-2 years.

I'm in the Financial Strategy practice which entails some combination of M&A, IPO, Restructuring, Reporting, IR, Activism Defense, and anything else that would be overseen by CFOs. We typically work with CFOs and other senior leadership. While we work with some private companies (typically pre-IPO), most of our clients are public companies ranging in market cap from <1B to over 80B.

I'm interested in either lateraling to a deals strategy role at a firm like Strategy& or EY Parthenon, an IB role (M&A ideally), or a Buy-Side role.

My current total comp is $85-90K depending on bonus (Expecting a promotion and pay bump in the next 6-12 months). Considering where I'd be comp-wise in 1-2 yrs, I would want 100K total comp to seriously consider the move.

Also, how should I go about maximizing my opps? I know networking is key. My school has a solid network I can leverage for that. Should I work with a recruiter? Any tips on how to find one for my needs?

Thanks for the help!
