Experienced hire 2023 at MCK or BCG - best time to apply and chances of getting in?

Hi everyone! I currently work for the strategy arm of a Big 4 and am looking for opportunities to jump to MBB. Have networked with a few people for all 3 firms: got a firm "not hiring any time soon" from Bain, "wait till end of Q1" from BCG, and "looks like we are still hiring" from MCK.

I wonder if any kindhearted MBB consultant here knows if this aligns with what they have experienced generally. Also, does anyone know if MCK is actually hiring? I know they are still doing interviews, but I am guessing the chances of getting an offer are smaller than last year during the boom.

I am so tempted to just apply to MCK and see how it goes, but I worry I will be throwing away my shot if I do it now. I would really really appreciate it if anyone could share a bit more insider knowledge on this matter or offer any advice for me. Truly.

Thanks again!

Just to elaborate a bit on my experience: I joined the Big 4 last year coming out of a target school, decent GPA, etc etc. Work is fine here. However I am currently abused and discriminated by my superiors (multiple people in astonishingly different ways), and when I reported up, they told me what I said would not have happened here. Hence the desperation of getting out...
