From Big 4 to Big 3

Hi everybody. I have been working as a consultant at a Big 4 firm for approx 6 months. I plan to transfer to the Transaction Services group in 6-8 months. What do you guys think what would be my chances to get into McKinsey, Bain, Booz, etc. after a couple years working in TS? Has anybody done this?

If yes, any recommendations are welcome :)

Thanks a lot.

Go to a top B-School will boost your chance, otherwise it's really hard to tell from the limited information you provided.

This is a bit off topic, but OP which group within Advisory are you in? I was under the impression that TS only takes experienced associates (at least 2 years) with an audit background, at least for the due diligence group within TS. Am I apparently mistaken?

Btw this is just out of curiosity. I was in Big 4 before and wanted to switch into TS at one point before completely leaving the PA industry.

I am in the FS group within Advisory. I am trying to transfer to the Valuations group and I know it is definitely doable. One of my great friends got into TS straight out of undergrad school and I've people transfer from Advisory (both associates and experienced associates).

I am sure TS likes folks with audit backgrounds, but it's definitely possible (at least at my firm).

How long were you working at a Big 4?
