From Management Consulting to Goldman Sachs?

This does NOT involve me, but my cousin works at a (non-MBB) management consulting firm who wants to move to Goldman for prestige purposes.

Is this possible for them? What division should they apply to if any?

I'm really curious about this: why do people come into WSO to ask questions for a "cousin" or a friend? Why not just refer said friend or family relation to the website? Or do friends and family ask the college age poster a career related question, they say let me get back to you and come here to seek advice and answer the question?

It's an anonymous board so it's not like asking the question to your buddies at a bar. "Hey bros, I have a "friend" who urinates fire. Not a burning sensation, we're talking melting the fucking urinal and setting off fire alarms. What do you think my friend should do?"
