Getting into MBB Help?

Hi WSO,

I am looking to gauge my chances of getting into MBB this coming academic year. I am from London, but, from what I understand, the recruitment process is the exact same as it is in the states.

Please see my background below:

  • Graduated with a 1st Class/4.0 GPA in Chemical Engineering from non target university

  • Completing an MSc in Chemical Engineering (Masters) at Imperial College London this coming year - target university

  • 1 Year Placement/Intership working at ExxonMobil as an engineer with lots of leadership and problem solving experience (1 Year Placements are common in the UK & less common in the states as I understand).

  • President & treasurer of societies at undergrad level

Please see my queries below:
1) Does anyone have any recommendations for what I can be doing to improve my chances of passing the screening stage
2) My biggest weakness is my lack of business experience - any suggestions on how to counteract this in my application. I am currently reading Case in Point to prep for the Case Interview stages.
3) Is it worth trying to network with MBB consultants/recruiters if I am attending a target school this year

Thanks in advance, any help is much appreciated.
