Good answer to "where do you see yourself in X years?"

Probability of getting asked this question is high, but I don't have a coherent answer for it. In my current job I completely fucked it up during my interviews by saying "I'd be competing with you with my business", which I thought was actually good, unironically. I'm being constantly mocked by my manager to this day because of it.

I have interview with MBB company, and I need a good answer, but I just cant conjure up any. My 5 years plan is either get promoted or leave for a better WLB company. Both answers don't satisfy the interviewer.

Please Help.

I’ve gotten pretty good at these types of convos. I’m still relatively young and say I’m not sure say 5 years down the road, but over the next year I lay out specific goals and then over the next 2-3 years I outline a path for increased responsibility and promotion
