Has anyone outsourced tech development to India via an ODC? What’s your experience?

We’re currently exploring the idea of setting up an Offshore Development Center (ODC) in India to support our product and tech operations. I’ve been reading about the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model and looking into partners like Inductus GCC, who help businesses set up and manage these centers.

I’m curious to hear from anyone who has either:
Set up an ODC in India
Worked with a third-party provider to build a remote dev team
Managed technology teams remotely from India
Some questions I'd appreciate feedback on:
How did you maintain quality and communication not being impacted?
What were the key cost savings (or unbilled costs)?
Did it scale well, or was there talent retention concern?
Would you suggest starting with a managed service provider or building from the ground up?
Grateful for any real-world experience or even lessons learned from success and failure.

Thanks in advance!
