Hiring Op

Fellow monkeys,

I've been reading a lot of these threads trying to figure out my chances of getting an MBB interview and/or offer.

I am an international student(but have attended american schools all my life) attending my 4th year at a bschool. We are not a target school but have a few of them near my campus. I have a 3.65 GPA, speak fluent english (obviously), spanish, and mandarin. I have signigicant living experience in the americas, europe and asia.

Do you think I still have a chance at getting an interview/offer for MBB and be based in the US even if my school isnt generally one the top consulting firm targets? If so, what would you suggest I do to increase my chances? I've been reading case in point and every guide I can get my hands-on.

All suggestions are appreciated.

Hey intlconnection,

You do have a chance of getting an interview, but be aware that a strong international profile (which you have) does NOT give you a leg up during recruiting. MBB look for achievement and raw intellect - your international profile will certainly help you in your career, both within or outside of MBB, but will not make them invite you over others. Be sure to stress the achievement and intellect stuff in your CV.

Try to get an interview via an inside connection that refers you. Should you not have that, use the normal app process. Good luck!
