How difficult is it to lateral into Big 4 consulting/advisory?
I graduated from a target university in May and joined a boutique consulting firm that specializes in a particular industry. I've realized that the work I'm doing is not at all what I thought it would be and want to move out as soon as possible.
How difficult would it be to get into Deloitte, PwC, or EY's advisory or consulting groups? Would I reach out to HR/recruiters that I spoke to while I went through recruiting during senior year or should I be networking with actual staff?
When is the right time to move? I've only been at my current job for 3-4 months but know it's not where I want to be.
to get into advisory people usually do two or three years in tax or audit and try to network their way into advisory. However, its still possible to be able to move directly into advisory, I would look for alumni who are currently working in advisory. Deloitte has a pretty big consulting arm you should check out
