How does MBB value industry experience?

Congrats on the new position and thanks for doing this! I'm wondering how does MBB value industry experience? I have an engineering undergrad degree. Did 3 years engineering, 4 years technology development, 2 years corporate strategy all with a $80B market cap oil & gas company. Recently thinking about going to strategy consulting hoping to gain more diversity and expertise. What would be a realistic expectation (ie. consult, senior consultant) for me transition from industry to MBB? Recently talked to a few strategy consulting people. Suggestions of doing MBA at a prestige school was also brought up to me. What are my chances of breaking in without a MBA at consultant/senior consultant level? Thanks!
