IB intern at GS/MS/JPM to FT MBB?
How feasible is this transition? It seems like FT MBB recruiting is in early fall, so is 1 month enough to case prep? It will be tough to do it over summer with IB hours.

Already know you want to make the switch?
Read case in point, do 1 case/day and get a return offer and you should be fine
You’ll want to be wary of how quick your bank’s return offers explode. I know a lot of people who planned on switching from IB SA to MBB FT that were pressed by their exploding IB return offers to give up on trying for consulting.
If you are willing to let go of your return offer to IB, then totally feasible but with the risk you will strike out at MBB of course. However, MBB looks positively on top-tier BB experience.
How long do you typically have to accept your return offer?
Just made the switch this past year. PM me!
Contrary to what others in this thread are saying, you should be able to recruit for MBB for FT without losing your return offer.
Simply ask your school's MBB recruiter to move up or speed up your process. This happens every year for IB students.
Furthermore, many schools now have mandates for internship return offers - i.e. the earliest deadline of a return offer has to be X date. Check if your school has these rules, firms need to follow them or risk being barred from recruiting on campus in the future.

Did this 2 yrs ago (and wasn’t even at top BB. Was at CS/BAML/Citi and now at Mck). Dm if you wanna chat through it. You have more than enough time to prep after the summer
If interested should I reach out to alumni / MBB recruiters now or is it too early?
