My honest advice would be: If you don’t feel ready as a whole for the process, don’t go for it. If you are applying as an intern and are rejected you’ll be banned for a year. Draw a timeline and see if you would benefit from applying next cycle, how many attempts you got until FT, etc.

Now, the Imbellus. You don’t need to have studied for case interviews to do well on it, but you certainly could benefit from doing so (They are most definitely not 1:1, but some skills apply to both). The question is: Imagine you pass the Imbellus...now what? As I said, you definitely CAN prepare for MBB interviews in a few weeks, but it is not extremely likely you’ll pass.

Cheers, and best of luck.

Now, I know ONE person that got the interview at an MBB, prepped like crazy for 2 weeks and got the offer. The rest of the people at MBB that I know cases for months prior and had dozens (some hundreds) of mock cases.

I personally think that Case Interview difficulty is a bit exaggerated on the internet, but still, they are no joke.

FYI - I’ve heard multiple people delaying interviews a few weeks if they need to. I personally delayed mine a whole year while still at uni :D

As for Imbellus, no way to study for it. It’s like a gameified logic test. Cases are a diff story
