Looking at exits from Strategy& - how should I name it on my CV?

Hey all,

Weird question I know.

I am looking to exit consulting into Industry and update my CV. As I am keen to maximise brand value, so to speak, I wanted your hopefully unbiased opinion on how to best place Strategy&.

You see a broad spectrum on LinkedIn but the most popular appear:

-Strategy& (Part of the PwC Network)

-Strategy& (formerly Booz&Co)

-Strategy&

The latter is what I would use if I were to apply to MBB - albeit we lost countless people to them so I may go through a referral if it comes to staying in consulting.

Which option would you use? For as much as I dislike PwC, I feel it is one of the most weel know professional service firms globally; does B&Co retain any brand value anymore?

The reason you see so many on LinkedIn is because the name it was tagged to on the platform changed over time

Just do Strategy& or Strategy& (PwC Advisory). Emphasize the PwC portion more or less in interviews based on the context of the opportunity. Personally I would keep it on the resume since (a) some people not familiar with the strategy consulting landscape may not recognize it and (b) I have to imagine applicant tracking software can have issues with the ampersand (when I was there I remember auto generated emails from headhunters just calling it Strategy)

Part of PwC network just sounds odd and implies that it's a PwC network firm which it is not. I was glad when they removed that from the LinkedIn

Formerly Booz & Co only makes sense if you are a long term legacy Booz person. Even then it can be more confusing than anything else since BAH still exists and Booz & Co hasn't for almost 10 years. Truthfully I primarily saw references to former Booz on really insecure colleagues that needed to remind everyone they worked at a T2 and not a B4

"as much as I dislike PwC" you work for PwC lol

Why not something like Strategy& (PwC' strategy consulting)? Most people at MBB are familiar with Strategy& and not Booz, while pretty much no one outside consulting knows/ cares about Booz anymore (echoing the other poster - besides people still clutching on to their prestige pearls). Emphasizing the strategy element is more helpful than just indicating its a business within PwC.
