MA Economics and Consulting

I am currently a senior at the University of Houston, pursuing a BS Economics. I intend on getting a MA Economics degree from UH/UTSA/ or SMU. My question is whether a MA in Economics will be a good degree for consulting and whether will it make me stand out of the crowd. Also, what are other good career options with this degree? (assuming I go into one of those schools)
