Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some specific courses and readings that have been found useful for preparing for an MBB job:

  1. Case Preparation:

    • Books:
      • Victor Cheng's book
      • "Case in Point" by Marc Cosentino
    • Programs:
      • LOMS (Look Over My Shoulder) program
  2. Framework Development:

    • Develop your own frameworks while solving cases and refine them case after case. For example, for market entry, a useful framework could be Market (including Competition)/Profitability/Company Capabilities & Capacity.
  3. Practice:

    • Practice reading through cases and developing frameworks. Read the prompt, think of clarifying questions, and lay out a framework as if you were talking to an interviewer.
    • Find case partners from friends, consulting clubs, or organized channels like Bain case chains.
  4. Personal Stories and Motivation:

    • Master 4-5 personal stories that can be used to answer multiple questions (e.g., leadership example, initiative example, project you are proud of).
    • Record each story at least 10 times on video, focusing on the STAR-L method (Situation, Task, Action, Result, Learning).
  5. Strategy and Case Books:

    • Use case books from MBA programs or business schools. These can often be found online by searching for the name of the business school and "Case Book."
  6. Excel and PowerPoint:

    • Practice creating and working with blank Excel sheets and Word documents.
    • Ensure familiarity with shortcuts and productivity tools on your specific laptop (e.g., Lenovo).
  7. Storytelling/Storyboarding:

    • Focus on structuring communication and storytelling. This can be particularly useful for creating strategy decks and presenting to clients.

Unfortunately, specific links cannot be shared directly, but you can find many of these resources by searching for the titles and programs mentioned above. Good luck with your preparation!
