MBB recruiting dinner at partner's house - what to expect

I am in an MBA program recruiting for full time consulting. Applications and interviews are still a few weeks away, but I was invited to a partners house for dinner.

Has anyone been to pre-interview dinner in this setting? I have been to recruiting dinners before, but never at someone's house. Should I bring a bottle of wine? Anything unusual I should expect?

Is it you alone, or will you be going with a group? What have previous applicants from your school said about this? If still unclear, I would err on the side of caution and get something...though I doubt its a dealbreaker either way.

When it comes to presents and stuff, you need to put it into context of the power balance. You're a grad student, he/she is a Partner. There is no expectation to contribute, it would come off needy and seeking of approval.

If you're traveling from another city, a (very) modest, non-extravagant souvenir from your place of origin might be appreciated... but soft-pedal it and don't make a big show of presenting it.
