McKinsey employees - no casing?
Hi all, recently had a coffee chat for FT recruiting with a McK BA. Previously, BAs were not allowed to advise on the PEI process but were typically fine to issue practice cases. BA is from a small office and said new firm policy is that McK consultants "cannot give practice cases." Didn't press him on it at all obviously respected it and thanked him for the chat, so wanted to forward the question and ask if anyone 1) either going through the FT recruiting process has experienced something similar or 2) anyone at the firm can attest to this? Thanks!
wow that's interesting
I have BA friends who told me that this is the official policy
When I asked a few months ago, BA I knew told me to reach out again for a case, come recruiting season - so if anything, must be super recent.
Actually got this confirmed by another BA in a large US office - official firm policy is no more casing, only indirect advice. Employees can still get around this it seems by just not disclosing that they ran practice cases with candidates.
