Mckinsey Gift Basket?
I just accepted an offer from McKinsey BA and was I have heard of this legendary gift basket they send you... is that true? if so.. for what offices?

I don't know if "legendary" is the right word but different offices give different baskets. Basically you get a bunch of books to pre-read, maybe a bio of Marvin Bower and something else (champagne, chocolate, different stuff).
My friend received some pizza and a couple of hookers...
I really hope that newbie's comment is not true, I plan on going into consulting solely for the gift baskets. I plan on accepting numerous offers at the same time, and then upon receiving the gift baskets, make my final decision. Pizza and hookers aren't really my thing, however, a quart of whiskey and some blow could win me over...
Ha, funny you say that. I was at a McKinsey party in LES a couple of weeks ago and was offered a snort twice. The funny thing is McKinsey BAs are by far the nerdiest of all consulting analysts...
Actually I'm sure at least one or two other people on this board were at that party... care to comment?
i thought the MOW analysts from my school were super-nerdy... thought the McKinsey kids were.. not exactly "cool", but not "nerds" either. they were type-A, "incredible resume" type people. they definitely like high grades + really good leadership positions. these aren't people you'll party with, unless you're at a cocktail party.
thought the bain took the "coolest" (traditional sense) kids and the hottest girls. for sure.
BCG definitely took some nerdy kids, mostly engineers.
