Move from banking -> consulting?
Finishing up my first year in banking, been applying to bunch consulting firms as I think consulting fits me better. Haven't been getting any hits, like ANY. Is this a pretty uncommon path (ie I'm not an "experienced" hire nor am I a college grad"? Is the market not that hot? Or should I be scrutinizing my resume some more and see if I'm not portraying myself well enough?
Ate you coming from a BB or MM bank? Are you applying through the website or referrals? Referrals will work out better on average
At a BB. Haven't tried the referral route since the finance market is hot and haven't needed any for some of the other roles I've been interested in, but I guess I need to start looking at this more.
If you're at a BB, I'd be surprised if you didn't get interviews if you also had referrals.
Guess I should get back to the cold emails. Thanks for the insight.
