Negotiating offer acceptance date

Hey all, the company I interned at this summer sent return offers with an early acceptance date. Is it possible to renegotiate / ask if it's okay to delay the acceptance date? Facing some family uncertainty for the next year, also want to go through full-time recruiting though I imagine it might be a crapshoot with the economy.

1) If you recruited through OCR, your career services will likely have policies regarding offer deadlines. If you go to a highly ranked school where they need to maintain that relationship, you might be able to ask for an extension in line with the university policies

2) You can always just reneg. Typically, the consequences for renegging involve some sort of limited access to career services job postings etc. If the company doesn't comply with career services offer length guidelines, check with your career services because they might not even slap you on the wrist if you reneg in that case
