Oliver Wyman (consulting) vs Adobe (Digital Strategy Analyst)

Thoughts on which offer to take?

I am a graduating undergrad student and think I want to be in tech in the long run, but feel like consulting is better for me in the short run.

The job offer at Adobe is in a group that basically does Digital Growth/Marketing Strategy for large partners in order to get them to use Adobe’s products.

The group is relatively new and I’ve seen a lot of McKinsey and BCG alum come to this group as well as a lot of MBAs from M7 schools. They advertise that the group mimics a consulting firm in structure but with purely a focus on these digital/marketing/growth topics.

The role would be right out of undergrad and in the same city. Pay is pretty much the same.

Some things I was hoping to get clarity on as well:

  • Is Adobe a well regarded brand name?
  • How does Adobe compare to FAANG tech companies?
  • How does OW as a brand compare to Adobe especially if I envision myself in a career in Corp Strategy?

They do OCR for these roles, so going to a target helps
