Post COVID: Remote based MC opportunities?

Hello All. Without going into too much detail, I'm the President of a small ~$8M business in fairly rural Midwest. Summer of 2023 I will have completed a PMBA. I'm trying to understand what, if any, options there are or may be (crystal ball anybody?) to enter a Management Consultant role without having to move to Chicago... Is there talk amongst the bigger firms of having remote MC jobs post COVID? Thanks in advance!

A couple things that would help begin the discussion:

(1) What type of consulting are you trying to get into? There are management consulting firms that do a bit of everything like MBB, Big 4, Oliver Wyman, Accenture, and LEK but there are specialized firms like A&M, and FTI Consutling for Restructuring, Charles River Associates and NERA for Economic Consulting.

(2) Why specifically Chicago? These big shops have offices across big cities in the States, I'm sure you'd be able to find a cool firm in Boston, Miami and some other States (idk, don't live in US).

(3) Without going into much detail, what type of business? What kind of work do you do there vs. what kind of work are you looking to find in consulting?

(4) What business school are you attending? Most business schools have on-campus hiring or a lot of social infrastructure to help out. I'm sure you're already looking into the clubs/resources, but perhaps do a quick Alumni search to see where people have ended up (and what cities).
