PwC Financial Services vs Generalist

I'm a first year MBA at a top 15 school with an interview at PwC's Financial Services group. I goofed, apparently, and applied to both the generalist position and the financial services position, and was given simply the financial services interview. My question, to anyone knowledgable, is what is the difference between the two groups, how is the rep of the fin svcs group, and does this have any significant portion of the diamond or prtm guys? Fwiw, my background is m&a and PE, which may be why I was stuck into the financial services group.

Thanks in advance for any educated responses.
