PwC vs. S& Pay
Hey gang. I saw recently that PwC Advisory and S& both pay 85k out of undergrad now. Is this true? And does this mean the firm plans on ironing out differences in comp going forward?
Thanks!

Bump Bump
Seriously doubt it. Pay is largely based on bill rates and S& has higher bill rates than PWC advisory. At junior levels, the difference is negligible as the actual work being done may not be that different but the gap starts to widen dramatically at manager+ as this is when differentiated thinking (vs. implementation) start to really matter.
This is hard to believe. PWC advisory is simply not as profitable. Bumping entry pay in advisory would result in bumps up the ladder. It just wouldn't make sense and would be a mistake by PWC IMO as advisory is not competing for talent with strategy firms.
Not even close. PWC pays ~50k and S& around 85k in Europe. Can't imagine they could do otherwise in the states. PWC isn't as profitable and S& folks would feel underpaid if PWC with less selective recruitment would pay the same.

I saw the same thing at the above link and was wondering more about PWC's starting salary. According to this it seems competitive with all the other firms, and they lump Strategy& together with them. Anybody know if there's truth in this?
S& pays more than PwC.
Yup. This is where I saw it. Plus ik my friend starting in PwC Advisory who had a base of 75k just got bumped, so I think the starting salary of 85k could be common across the board.
Anyone in Advisory in a major city that can confirm this?
S& pays ~MBB at entry level
