Q&A: Ex-T2 Consultant -> Corporate Strategy
Since recruiting season is on us, I figured offering a Q&A could be useful. I spent a number of years in consulting, most recently at a T2 firm in Europe before making a move to a larger healthcare-focused corporate strategy role (think Big Pharma or Big MedTech).
what country in europe?
how did you decide to go into healthcare corp strat?
which industries pay well for corp strat?
Most recently UK. Healthcare was always a focus in my consulting career, so it made sense to stick to an industry I know well. I don't know exact salary comparisons across corporates, but healthcare (mainly Pharma) pays very well. Tech companies also have decent comp but less technical roles will see relatively less compensation.
Thank you for the Q&A! I would have a few questions: What level did you leave at in your consulting firm, and how does comp compare? Also, what projects did you do when working at the T2?
I left at around EM level and the corporate I moved to were able to match my compensation package. This is quite common when moving at the EM level. Granted, salary progression may be slower in corporates, but it's a fair trade when you consider significantly better WLB.
I focused mainly on strategy projects, some CDD for financial clients and the occasional operations project
Thanks for doing this! Just a couple of questions:
Thanks again!
