Opinions on joining Alvarez and Marsal in their Restructuring group out of undergrad? Is the firm well regarded? Where are possible exits?

It's a great shop. I am an MBA and I want to get in. But it's hard. I had one shot but I blew it.

The firm is an industry leader in turnaround and restructuring consulting. They're perhaps the best for that type of work (next to FTI Consulting and AlixPartners). Several other posts on Alvarez and Marsal have mentioned the usual trajectory as follows: Rx at A&M -> IB in Turnaround Practice -> PE
Also, I should caution that Alvarez and Marsal has a diamond shape where they take on the most employees at the associate level, and very few at the undergraduate level. They recruit from top MBA programs, from IB shops and Bain especially.
