Restructuring Consulting Firms
Wondering what other restructuring consulting firms with solid reputations outside of A&M, Alix, and FTI that might be hiring new-grads? Thanks.

They rarely hire new grads - the most junior positions I’ve seen are targeting recent grads with 1-3 years of experience in management consulting for performance improvement groups or finance consulting (PIPE/PEPI/Corp Fin) or investment banking for restructuring groups.
I could be wrong given this is based on my empirical research and discussions.
BRG, Ankura are solid T2s in RX.
To add to the above of BRG and Ankura, there are also the following that are known names in the space:
- Province
- Getzler Henrich
- Riveron
- M3
- Carl Marks
- Portage Point Partners
Do you know anything about M3? Have heard people mention their name but they still seem pretty lowkey
Sure, they're well-known within the space and worked on some notable deals.
A good chunk of their recent public deals were in retail, including the following:
BlockFi (UCC)
Paper Source (Debtor)
Neiman Marcus (UCC)
VIP Cinema (Ad Hoc Group)
Barneys (Debtor)
I’d add CR3 partners, Accordion, and Meru. Oliver Wyman also just started a practice too.
I also think Armanino is starting one also?
Meru? Is that even a firm? Never heard of them, Oliver Wyman is starting a practice, good luck, I guess you can always higher an all-star for way too much money, from some reputable place and see if it works. Is there a team around them. Someone has to fill out those darn 13 weeks and make utility & cash collateral motions.
I don't believe any of those firms hire straight out of undergrad, the lower you go into the market even less of a chance
https://wearemeru.com/ - Newer firm, looks like they're growing. If you keep up with the industry, you'll see new firms popping up. Just have to keep your eyes open.
Not sure who's hiring right out of undergrad, but I'd imagine (some) boutiques would take a flyer on a fresh grad if they needed the help and you networked in. The TMA has a list of a bunch of single shingle shops but once you get a bit of experience, you're in the club. I haven't worked in restructuring in years and still get recruiters reaching out to me for those roles.
Not sure about other firms, but A&M RX did some undergrad recruiting this cycle.
Yeah but it was literally useless, I was talking to a recruiter and she very passively made it clear they have target schools for those roles given I had experience that definitely set me aside from a target student. Kinda pointless.
What experience did you have that set you aside?
In addition to A&M, Alix, and FTI, a few other reputable restructuring consulting firms that often hire new grads include Houlihan Lokey, Deloitte, and Agileteksys. It's worth checking out their recruitment pages and networking events to explore potential opportunities. Best of luck with your search!
I've been in the restructuring space for 7 years and I have no clue what Agileteksys is. Houlihan Lokey is a solid firm that hires out of college for IB restructuring, but it's not comparable to A&M/Alix where the focus is on turnaround & restructuring (I find this to effectively be synonymous with management consulting). Not sure that Deloitte hires into their Rx group out of undergrad, but if they do, it's maybe just a few people. Their overall practice in the US is like 40-80 people (mostly consistent of upper-level folks that have 10-20+ years of experience). Deloitte's Rx practice is also not what I'd consider a "reputable Rx shop". They are slowly growing their presence and get involved in some good mandates, but they would not even make the cut within the top 10 Rx shops in the industry.
