Skills necessary to become at Consultant at a BIG 4 Firm
Tulane University for UG in History
Carnegie Mellon - Public Policy and Management
No internships in Consulting, though I was on the Executive Board of the Heinz Consulting Club, Vice President of the Heinz Analytics Club, and an Associate Consultant with a student organization that completed an M & A project for an investment holding firm.
I have practiced the cases, and understand them very intuitively. I have competed in case competition ran by Deloitte, and Accenture. What else might I need to really stick out?
Didn't get any offers from boutiques or the BIG4. I'll try again in a year.
Network, network, network, network. Seems like you have the technical skills. Do some practice interviews and take a public speaking class or something.
I network as much as possible over one thousand contacts on linkedin and have completed a half dozen informational interviews. I will do more in the future.
Quality over quantity. Rather than meeting as many people as you can, really spend time developing substantial relationships.
